Must-Have Cast Iron Cookware for Every Kitchen

Cast iron

Cast iron is a genuine alternative to Teflon-coated non-stick cookware. It's healthy, budget-friendly, and easily available in the market. It's also easy to clean, saving you time while cooking.

Unlike non-stick, aluminum, or hard-anodized cookware, cast iron is genuinely healthy to cook with — it even enriches the iron content in your food. Cooking in cast iron gives your food a traditional, rustic taste, and it requires far less oil compared to other cookware.

Cast iron utensils can be used on a stove, induction, or even over an open fire, and can withstand high temperatures for long periods.

Personally, I use my cast iron cookware to fry Potatoes, vegetables, fish, omelets, and many other dishes. I genuinely love cooking with it — the taste is excellent. That said, cleaning and maintenance are important, and oil plays a major role in keeping it in good condition over time.

Seasoning: A Must Before First Use

Before using cast iron cookware, seasoning is essential. It needs to be cleaned and seasoned a few times before regular cooking.

Once you receive your utensil, clean it completely using a mild dish-washing liquid and water. Avoid using an abrasive scrub, as this can break down the seasoning.

After cleaning, wipe it with a soft cloth and let it dry completely. Then apply vegetable or cooking oil all over the surface.

Heat the kadai over medium flame for 15–20 minutes. After that, switch it off and let it cool down completely.

Once cooled, wipe off any excess oil with a soft cloth and store the cookware in a dry place to prevent rusting. For best results, repeat this seasoning process 2–3 times. With continued use, the surface becomes naturally non-stick, and your food tastes even better.

 1. Tawa Pan Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet:

This pre-seasoned cast iron tawa offers a natural, easy-release finish that improves with every use. Built for durability, it's designed to give you a lifetime of reliable, premium cooking.

Whenever you think of dosa, chapati, or bread, a tawa naturally comes to mind. While non-stick pans may seem convenient, the chemical coatings can affect your health over long-term use.

Cast iron tawas, on the other hand, are completely natural — and once properly seasoned, they become non-stick within just a few uses. With proper care, they can last for years, even generations.

  • Comes pre-seasoned with sunflower oil
  • Great for cutting down on oil and butter use
  • Works on gas, electric, and induction stovetops
  • Increases the iron content of your food
  • Easy to clean and maintain

2. Cast Iron Dutch Oven Duo Set :

This cast iron cookware is completely safe for cooking any type of food, while naturally enriching it with iron. It works on gas stoves, induction, and even over a fire, and can withstand high temperatures for extended periods.

Both pieces come pre-seasoned in vegetable oil, making them ready to use right away and easy to clean. They also offer excellent heat retention and even cooking throughout.

As a natural cast iron product, you may occasionally notice small sand holes on the surface — this is completely normal and doesn't affect the safety or performance of the cookware.

3. Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware Set:

This set includes a small 1.5L kadai, a large 2.5L kadai, and a 10-inch cast iron dosa/roti tawa — all pre-seasoned and ready to use.

Cast iron brings out a traditional, rustic taste in your food while requiring very little oil to cook — a great way to enjoy tasty, healthy meals every day.

Unlike non-stick and other cookware, cast iron is genuinely healthy. Since Indian food tends to be flavor-rich and often cooked at high heat, cast iron is an especially good fit for everyday Indian cooking. It also helps boost the iron content in your meals.

This cookware is completely safe for cooking any type of food, works across gas, induction, and open flame, and can comfortably withstand high temperatures for long periods.
